Hi Gang,

It has really been a long time since I have kept any kind of consistent blog.  But, I thought that I should just dive in, transfer all my old blog posts here, and give you some shiny, braggy, and fun links that give you a reason to show up here from time to time.  I promise to do a better job of keeping you all apprised of my work.

Besides my fun list of upcoming works that are slated to be performed by the world’s finest groups, here are some fun links to things I have done in recent past that are worth bragging about since I am really proud of how far a kid with a guitar could come in just a few short years:

I continue to work with my favorite hip hop artist, Rey Res with a handful of string arrangements for his upcoming LP release “Heart of the City”. That album is sounding really sick in the studio.  Please stay tuned for album release info.

Ethan Bortnick is an incredible singer and songwriter who had his second PBS special air last year.  I, along with David Rosenthal (music director to Billy Joel) composed and orchestrated all the arrangements for this special.  My work with David continues today with a number of really exciting projects that include assisting him with arrangements for Billy’s Madison Square Garden shows.

Kanye West is a Hip Hop, Style, and everything-symbol.  Also, he is married to Kim Kardashian.  That part is really important for this next brag, as I assisted with the arrangements for his proposal to Ms. Kardashian at SF’s own AT&T park.  You can hear a number of my friends playing my arrangements on stage here: http://www.tmz.com/videos/0_fs2glxif/

I wrote the score to an incredible documentary about online poker called Drawing Dead.  The trailer can be seen here:

In addition to doing freelance composition and orchestration, I curate a small catalogue at BCP Music. I absolutely LOVE what I do, and Salary.com did an article about it.

Jeff Kalis, a dear friend and fabulous journalist and author, did a profile on me for SFCV.org.  Check it out!

One of my most proud commissioned works to date is a piece I wrote for Meerenai Shim – the most fearless flutist I know.  You can check out all the cool things she’s up to here: www.meerenai.com

I wrote a piece for the Berkeley Symphony that was really loud.  Also, it was a really great way to exorcise some demons I’ve been meaning to shake for a really long time.  Read about it here, or check out the Soundcloud Page on this site.

From the last few seasons, I have worked with a group called Clerestory. I think that every choir everywhere should know about how awesome these guys are.
